Our management team is composed of following members:
Thomas SERVAL, co-founder and Chairman of Baracoda SA
Thomas co-founded Baracoda SA with Olivier Giroud in October 2000. Thomas oversees all Baracoda projects at Baracoda SA and ensures the implementation of the company’s strategy with the aim of this becoming a leader in embedded management systems. Thomas graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure and gained several diplomas in politics and economics at ENSAE and Harvard. In addition to his activities with Baracoda, Thomas is still Vice-President of the French chapter of the Internet Society and Vice President of Comité Richelieu (Association of French high-tech SME). He is also leading the role of spokesperson in emphasizing the importance of solutions using Bluetooth technology.
Olivier GIROUD, co-founder of Baracoda SA, General Manager of Baracoda Media
Olivier is General Manager of Baracoda Media and supervises all strategic and development projects as well as operations. As prior CTO of Baracoda, Olivier has filed many patents in the field of wireless and media aggregation technologies. Before starting Baracoda, Olivier has worked in the California based Ethertronics, Inc and in the Electrical Engineering Labs at UCLA. Having studied at the Ecole Polytechnique, Olivier obtained his qualifications from TELECOM Paris School of Engineering.
Laurent PERRIN, CTO
Laurent is the architect of the Baracoda Media platform. He designed both protocol and the application interfaces that allow various devices to take advantage of our services. Prior to joining Baracoda Media, he started his career in the core infrastructure team of CATIA V5 (Dassault Systèmes). He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and TELECOM Paris School of Engineering.
Xavier FILLIOL, Head of contents
Pioneering digital music industry in 1998 with mp3.fr & Musiwave as cofounder, Xavier FILLIOL is specialized in business & legal environment. A musician and journalist, he was Director of the Centre Info Rock at IRMA, the main association for the promotion of popular music in France. In 1997, he was among the rare experts to demonstrate to the music industry and the French government the risks and opportunities of the mp3 format. Xavier is also co-president of the GESTE’s music commission. Gathering more than 110 societies, the “Groupement des Editeurs de Services en Ligne” (G.E.S.T.E.) is a non-profit organisation that works with all French music actors to establish a favourable environment for the distribution of digital music throughout new media.
