Pingo enhances Digital TV coverage on all your home screens !
Pingo is a research and development project approved in April 2008 by Cap Digital, a French business cluster of
digital content and services.
The Pingo project’s main aim is to develop a set of tools to extend the coverage of digital television, guaranteeing quick, easy, low-cost indoor digital television coverage.
The project addresses various aspects of adaptation and transcoding topics:
- Adaptation of distribution methodology: from a DVB-T/H to an IP network
- Adaptation of video streaming to the Wi-Fi network and targetting of TV receivers capacities by resizing the image and by reducing the video bit rate
- Adaptation of navigation interfaces
The Pingo project enables the linking of digital television reception and broadcasting by working with markets leaders.
